I know this is going to be insensitive and perhaps politically incorrect, but is any body else west of Massachusetts as wound up and breathless as the media about this manhunt for douchebag Boston Marathon bomber suspect #2?
I mean, I don't feel the least bit threatened.
I have the news on. Something is happening. The media is scratching the bottom of its brain via a nasal passage. Digging deep for words, more words, words more words to fill the passing seconds to fill the 24/7 news cycle.
The suspect may be holed up in a boat on a trailer in someone's driveway. An unidentified witness has purportedly stated that many shots were fired and the suspect may be dead. Knowing the accuracy with which the Po Po up north can place a round, all I can say is "poor boat". I hope the owner has good insurance. The fortunate thing is that this is not a crowded street in New York City.
The media has attempted to turn this into a national catastrophe. It is not. It is a local criminal act. Jihad? Maybe. The perps are Chechen Muslims living a seventh century religion in a modern world.
Watertown, MA. went into lockdown. This is not an appropriate response to a loose fugitive. I suggest a block party. Everybody on the block get your sidearm and shotgun. Bring the BBQ pit and a cooler of beer out front. Don't forget the lawn chairs, it's going to be a long day, perhaps extending into the night. Let the dog out into the back yard. If you don't have a dog, borrow one.
I call this the IRL denial of service attack. Leave the perp no where to runhide.
Anybody shows up and sets foot on your lawn that you don't know, shoot him.
Now that's crowd sourcing rat thar!
Wait. That's the people's republic of Massachusetts, not Texas. My bad. Never mind.
As I watched the Communist News Network at the airport last night I noticed how they showed the time in the lower right of the screen. Eastern time then it would show Pacific time. Oh well, it doesn't matter anyway. All us 'tards in the fly over Central and Mountain time zones can't tell time anyway.
And the geniuses at CNN can't figure out why the number of people that watch is so dismally low.

The higher you rise, the further you can fall
Brings to mind Icarus from Greek mythology (hey, I'm a highly educated, and licensed redneck... by the State of Texas no less).
Randy Travis' life has apparently turned to shit, so he decided to get drunk and get neckid and now he's in the news. ( and jail)
For my non-Southern readers: If you are naked, you are disrobed. If you are neckid, you are disrobed and up to something.
It appears Randy was so neckid that he either; a) got into an altercation with the PoPo, or; b) fell down of his own accord and face planted on the asphalt.
Getting your name out there appears to have become a life threatening undertaking for aging Country Music Stars these days. I mean really. What you have to do to get higher up the list on Drudge than Lady Gaga.
All of that blather aside, I'd like to dedicate this to my lovely, and well armed wife, The Southern Belle.

Time to start calling your US Senators!!!
Well, the Lee's Summit Conservative brings cheerful news regarding a UN Treaty that is on the table this month that will completely defy the 2nd Amendment and basically render it null and void.
The LSC correctly points out in his article that in our own Constitution that it states that treaties are the law of the land.
I hope that our Senators are not stupid enough to approve this treaty, but what I want to know is why we aren't hearing anything about this from anyone? Not even the NRA??
The one thing that helps prevent foreign countries from invading our shores is the knowledge that we, the people are armed and willing to fight for our freedom. It seems to me, that is motive enough for the UN to want to pass this garbage of a Treaty and would want the US on board.
Go give the article a read and leave LSC some commenty goodness.

No Wonder We're Effing Broke.........
Good grief, where the hell do I begin with this?
Apparently, we have a USADA (U.S. Anti-Doping Agency) that exists for the sole purpose of investigating atheletes who may or may not have doped while participating in their sport.
WTF are we doing? I mean, since when is it the nanny state's job to look in to shit like this? Really? I mean, shouldn't it be the sporting association's (of whichever sport we're talking about ) job to police itself? Why in the hell do our tax dollars pay for such a governmental intrusion of the private sector?
You would think that the Feds would be more concerned with policing their own agencies... like oh I don't know... the ATF....the Justice Department.... the Executive Branch?? Fast and Furious anyone?
So now it's Lance Armstrong getting questioned about doping. In fact, they are filing charges against him. So correct me if I'm wrong... but before these major cycling events, don't they test them for performance enhancing drugs? I do believe that they do, but then again, I could be wrong.
Whether or not they are tested before these competitions is irrelevant, what is very disturbing to me is that the reason they started investigating Armstrong in the first place is because they questioned his record breaking performances and were suspicious of whether or not he could have really accomplished all that he has without doping...... huh?
I'm just sick of this shit. Every day, innocent citizens are groped at the airport simply because they want to travel, the NSA peeks into our emails looking for whatever they look for.. keywords? I'm sure that I'm flagged a gazillion times.....and now, they are requiring atheletes to essentially piss in a cup, yet they are suing the State of Florida for wanting to require people living on welfare to piss in a cup...... ironic? Just a tad..... Enraging? Fuck yes!
No wonder we're broke.

In the world of the bizarro.........
Well, I don't know whether to laugh or cry over this one. All I can say is I hope that this guy fries, but in Canada, I don't know if they even have the death penalty there. Send him to Texas, we'll take care of him!
I think that the laughter would be sending body parts to the government.... very sick, but I wonder if he was trying to make a point, if so... what?
Very disturbing to say the least.
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/luka-magnotta-arrested-canadian-psycho-body-parts-150652360.html
Luka Rocco Magnotta, the porn actor who Canadian authorities sent the dismembered body parts of a student to Canadian politicians, has been captured in Berlin, according to the CBC.
Magnotta was arrested in an Internet cafe, according to Germany's Bild newspaper. German police spokesperson Stefan Rieldich said someone at the cafe recognized Magnotta and called authorities, who took him into custody.
According to the National Post, Canadian authorities are en route to Berlin.
The international manhunt for Magnotta began last week, after police say the so-called "Canadian Psycho" fled to Paris. Authorities had tracked Magnotta to France through his cellphone.
Magnotta, 29, is wanted in Canada on first-degree murder charges in connection with the killing of Jud Lin, a 33-year-old Concordia University student from China. He is also accused of videotaping the gruesome murder and posting it online.
Magnotta allegedly mailed Lin's severed body parts to Ottawa police and politicians, including Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who received a severed foot.
Authorities searched Magnotta's Montreal apartment, where they found a torso stuffed in a suitcase. Not all of the body parts have been recovered.
Magnotta promoted himself as a gay porn star, and according to CNN used several aliases, including Eric Newman or Vladimir Romanov.

Well.
Then.
Go Home.
I was going to post a few comments about the news feed from the Houston Comical regarding the State Department's Traveler warning for Mexico, but it disappeared within a few minutes. I mean, we can't have anything detrimental on the Comical news feed regarding our southern neighbor and their all out civil drug war can we?
Of course not.
So, we will replace it with an article about how being in the U.S. causes undocumented worker premature births. We is such a bad bad country.
Oh, BTW, the State Department advisory said that any place you used to go for fun in Mexico, or were considering going, for fun, is really dangerous for gringos.

Well we knew this would happen......
On a more sour note, bombings rock Bahgdad and yet the media seems so surprised that this has happened.
I've been saying for years that as soon as we leave Iraq all hell will break loose. Sometimes it sucks to be right.
I've been saying for years that as soon as we leave Iraq all hell will break loose. Sometimes it sucks to be right.
U.S. military officials have said they're worried about a resurgence of Al Qaeda after the American military leaves the country. If that happens, it could lead Shiite militants to fight back and attack Sunni targets, thus sending Iraq back to the sectarian violence it experienced just a few years ago.Imagine that. My only hope is that we don't end up going back to that hell-hole. Hopefully the Iraqis will stabilize their country and put an end to this violence in short order.

Texas Tech Students get Sh*&(y
Literally.
Real shitty move, Tech. I understand pranks, but this is just disgusting. Whatever happened to shaving cream and toilet paper? Or stealing and shaving mascots or sawing off horns? Oh wait, that's what Aggies and Longhorns do to one another....
Read the story here.
On the upside of things, the Aggies beat the Red Raiders 45-40. It was a really good game. GO AGGIES!

I love the Coast Guard
I've always been rather fond of the Coast Guard, especially since a dear friend of mine served over 20 years in the USCG.
In the news today the Coast Guard managed to talk a pilot down in the ocean about 13 miles off the Hawaiian coast.
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/10/08/pilot-ditches-small-plane-in-pacific-ocean-after-fuel-shortage/
Pretty amazing thing considering the pilot was not injured and the plane, while it sank, was in tact when it was ditched.

Well this gets my ire up.
From The Telegraph
"A group of Muslim protesters set fire to an American flag outside the US embassy in London during a minute's silence to mark the moment that the first hijacked airliner hit the World Trade Center 10 years ago."
Full story here.
Yet we are told that this is the 'religion of peace'.

You can't make this stuff up........
Weatherman found in hot tub with a dead naked man wearing a dog collar..........
Full story here.
I found it a little comical that the story says, "An Arkansas weatherman didn't predict he would wake up in a hot tub with a naked dead man, but that's exactly what police say happened."
So this begs the question, "When does a weatherman every predict anything correctly?"
I'm just saying.........

Okay, reporters are totally stupid. This guy is wondering about this "sea form that's some sort of organic material."
Did anyone bother to tell this guy that the foam means that it's most likely raw sewage or dead animal matter that causes this?

In the world of the bizarro.....
Crazy Man Bites Woman claims to be vampire, then claims that he was drugged.
GALVESTON - A Galveston man who claimed to be a vampire after being arrested for breaking into a woman's apartment and biting her was under the influence of the date-rape drug Rohypnol, his attorney said Friday.
Someone put the drug in punch that Lyle Monroe Bensleydrank at a party, attorney Adam Brown said.
"He literally had no idea what he was doing. None," Brown said. "He literally blacked out for 12 hours." Brown said his client had no history of mental illness.
Police arrested Bensley, 19, after discovering him howling in the parking lot of the apartment building where he is accused of assaulting a woman. He was arrested on a charge of burglary with intent to commit assault and remains in the Galveston County Jail with bail set at $40,000.
He is accused of breaking into the apartment of the woman, whose name has been withheld, before 7 a.m. Saturday. Bensley, whose body is covered in tattoos, wore only boxer shorts as he growled and hissed while pummeling and biting the woman, police said.
She escaped as he dragged her out of the apartment, then she got into a car driven by a neighbor. Police said Bensley beat on the car as it sped away.
Bensley begged police to restrain him so that he wouldn't hurt them in his attempt to feast on human blood, police said after arresting him.
Galveston officer Daniel Erickson said at the time that emergency medical personnel determined that Bensley did not appear to be under the influence of drugs.
Brown, however, said his client accepted a glass of punch at a party that he believes was spiked with Rohypnol. He was uncertain whether the drug was put in Bensley's glass or the punch bowl.
"He's a very nice young man and he's never been in trouble before," Brown said. Bensley did not realize what he had done until he saw it on television at the jail, he said.
"In this particular circumstance, he had no idea that somebody had drugged him," Brown said.
Bensley works for a landscape company and has a 3-year-old daughter who lives with her mother, he said. "He's just a good kid in the wrong place at the wrong time."
Police skepticism
Brown was appointed by the court because Bensley cannot afford an attorney, he said.
Bensley asked for a blood test at the jail but was denied, Brown said.
He said he would have Bensley's hair tested for traces of the drug. He also will ask the court to allow him to hire an investigator to interview people at the party.
Capt. Jeff Heyse, a police spokesman, said police do not normally administer a drug test unless it's related to the charge, such as drunken driving. He expressed skepticism about Brown's explanation.
"Why would anybody give Rohypnol to a guy?" Heyse asked.
You would think this story came out of L.A. or something.

New Yorkers Defending Themselves with Baseball Bats
I was just watching a soft news show, Inside Edition and they were showing a story of pharmacies in New York who are being robbed at gun point for drugs.
Apparently one recent incident resulted in 4 fatal shootings by a lone gunman. The victims did not put up any resistance, they were simply shot because they were there. One of them was only 17. The story is here:
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/inside_nightmare_shop_slaughter_Bd2XjYTvXm9OsueN8ueaoL
Last bit of the story on IE was of a small pharmacy owner who is going to keep a baseball bat at her side at all times.
Last I checked, a baseball bat doesn't do so well against a gun, unless the wielder of the bat gets a jump on the assailant.
Perhaps NY needs to reconsider its gun laws? I bet that these types of crimes would plummet.

Crime Doesn't Pay
Well at least not if you're going to break into a house in the state of Texas. You know, we Texans tend to arm ourselves. Of course who would have thought this jackwagon would break into a cop's house.
I wish this would happen to criminals more often, maybe they would stop committing these types of crimes!

Texas cowboy helps New Yorker by roping runaway steer
From The Houston Chronicle
Apparently steer roping isn't exactly his forte' considering he got pulled from his saddle, but hey, he got the job done so it's a win.
From The Houston Chronicle
GALWAY, N.Y. — It took a Texan to rope a runaway steer in an upstate New York field, but the cowboy lost some skin in the process.
Greg Way tells the Daily Gazette of Schenectady that he was unloading a pair of recently bought steers at his farm in rural Saratoga County earlier this month when the cattle bolted and escaped.
One of the steers was back within a couple days, but his 700-pound companion remained on the lam for a week.
Last Saturday, John West took a break from his horse training duties in Saratoga Springs to lend a hand capturing the wayward steer. The 44-year-old Texan mounted a horse and eventually roped the steer, but was pulled from his saddle and dragged along the ground for a spell.
West, whose hometown wasn’t available, suffered only minor scrapes and scratches.
Apparently steer roping isn't exactly his forte' considering he got pulled from his saddle, but hey, he got the job done so it's a win.
The Governator Can't Keep It In His Pants
Is this really news? Seriously?
It's been headlined several times on GMA this morning.
It's not even like this is a surprise. I seem to remember when he was running for Governor his whoring ways were exposed back then. The fact that he fathered a child 10 years ago out of wedlock is not really a surprise, nor is it really news.
