I, for once in a long while, am not laboring on labor day.
Scooter has gone back home now. Belle asked her what her favorite part of the weekend was as she said her goodbyes.
"Working with Paw Paw on the gun."
Pretty high marks there imho, considering that competed with a Looney Tunes ACME ARSENAL video game on the xbox.
By last night, Scooter was completely owning me in the game.

-did a bit of polishing on the bolt cam surfaces and shortened the springs just a bit.
Great looking rifles there. Of course you lose points for the recoil pad. :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I will probably end up putting a recoil pad on one or more of my rifles. For some reason, some people seem to think they have a lot of recoil.
Treasure the memories of Scooter working with you, time moves so quickly as you know. Hopefully there will be plenty of other memories; Scooter shooting this or that, spending the day with both of you at the range, etc.

DeleteThe recoil pads are not as soft as I'd imagined, so the jury is still out on whether they help or not.
They are, however, shaped better than the 2x6 that substitutes for the Mosin stock.
