One of these brutal boomsticks, for me, will be enough for a while. Looks like next weekend there's going to be some gun cleanin. This, I've, been informed, is my job. Belle did a good job of selection. The action on the bolts are not bad for Mosins.

I thought the same thing until I realized they are like potato chips; one isn't enough. You'll need at least an M44 to go along with the "Bolshevik Flame Throwing Spear of Death". Then there are the variations in receivers, etc. The Redneck Engineer has it right (so does Borepatch) -- the bad thing is they are cheap enough to collect in lots.
Maybe between us we can have enough Mosins to equip an entire firing line at the next Dallas Area Blog shoot.
Belle got the Tokorev back from the smith today all cleaned up, so it's ready to go. We need a pic of the x54R firing line from an elevated position snapped at the moment a dozen foot long muzzle flashes emit...maybe right at sunset.
The great thing about Mosins is that they're cheap enough to buy lots.

I've got several different firearms in x54R, so if there is going to be a firing line, I don't think we need to discriminate against non-mosin guns.
ReplyDeleteLOL. TRE -- no discrimination meant or implied. Just thinking of the sight of an entire line of folks with Mosins with attached bayonets.
DeleteI don't have anything other then Mosins; yet but give me a little bit of time and I'll be right there with you.
All x54r weapons are welcome on the line; heck...given the nature of our group, can't think of many weapons not welcomed.
I was thinking more along the lines of a PKM or a Goryunov for belt-fed X54R goodness.
DeleteThe problem is finding another venue for the next blog shoot that allows for a firing line of that sort.

I like this idea.
DeleteMight have to pour a couple grains of powder in the barrel to get a better effect.
Maybe not.
So, when and where, gentlemen?
