Hubby gave a good summary of the goings on at the shoot yesterday.
YeOldFurt was missed but unfortunately life sometimes gets in the way of our fun but there's always next time.
It was really nice to meet Josh K. and it was great to see Borepatch again. Much to my delight, BP brought his Enfield, which I immediately began to drool over.
After a sufficient amount of drooling, and having observed things like recoil and so on while everyone else had a go with the Enfield, I decided to go ahead and give it a whirl.
The recoil wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, which was a good thing. The sights are a bit different than I'm used to shooting, but wow!
There are a couple of things that I thought were really cool. Shooting with a sling is way more stable and interesting. It feels weird at first but it's amazing at how much it relieves the pressure on your forearm that supports the rifle.
Second thing that I learned is that I really like shooting a bolt action rifle. I had never fired one before yesterday and it was fun.
Oh and a third thing that I love.... shooting at annoying cartoon character dolls is much more fun than shooting at paper targets. When hit with a high powered rifle, Bart Simpson would jump up into the air.
It was a very fun day with wonderful conversation, good food and naturally, plenty of shooty goodness.
