Two headlines that made me go, "Uh Huh..."

Cain defamation lawyer hired to monitor accusations

Cain Accuser Tables Proposed Joint Press Conference with Other Accusers
“Ms. Kraushaar has decided not to hold a press conference unless and until the other women come forward and wish to participate,” Bennett told the Times."

Sure, ga'head, blame your reticence on the other accusers. It wouldn't be that you are a little "truth impaired" would it?

  1. And in the paper yesterday was the story that at her next employer after the Cain thing, she accused them of sexual misconduct, too.

  2. I can't attest to any of the parties involved here. But I've seen that a lot over the years. Have a bad performance review, lose out on a contract, suddenly you're being "sexually harrassed". That does a diservice to women who ARE sexually harrassed.

I had a guy leave really explicit photos in the flight can in the airplane. I'm not talking playboy, I'm talking really, really sick stuff (I will never watch Mr. Ed again) Had I reported it to my superiors, in THAT day and age it would have been MY career. I took the offender out behind the flight line, held up a copy of all the offending stuff, grabbed him by the tie and said "one more, and I'm having lunch with your wife so she can see what gets you off.". He never bothered me again.

But things are different now, and the women that suffer it for real get my sympathy.

  3. One of my elder partners was always pushing the limit in this arena. He got a very hot cup of coffee "accidentally" spilled in his lap in a very large meeting in front of clients by a young female receptionist. I was not there. He and I are very close, and he confessed this to me. He said he guessed he stepped over the "line". Coincidentally, my response was a knowing, "Uh Huh". She, by the way, did not get fired and stayed with us for quite some time after that.
As I'm typing, I'm seeing the similarity to your experience. She'd had enough and drew the line in the sand in no uncertain terms.
This shit still happens for real, I know. The guys that do it are punk ass predators. But this stuff that's been thrown at Cain, just to see what will stick is highly suspicious.
This last bit with Cain lawyering up, and the Accusers standing down was the final nail in the coffin for me regarding the veracity of the claims.
